Established nearly 110 years ago, the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania, provides quality education services to more than 2,000 students at no expense to families. Beyond their studies and school activities, Milton Hershey School (MHS) students engage with the a number of local groups and organizations, including the Rotary Club of Hershey.
The Rotary recently recognized a pair of MHS academics as Rotary Students of the Month. Zaria Beckley, a senior at the school, is a class caucus member of the MHS Student Government Association, a position she uses to engage in a variety of fundraising efforts for local charities. A National Honor Society scholar, Zaria also makes time for her role on the varsity field hockey team and as Junior Chapel leader. Ms. Beckley plans to attend Georgetown University as a biology student.
Meanwhile, fellow senior Jared Bell is an honors and AP student taking part in an engineering and design career pathway as part of the school’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Mr. Bell intends to study computer hardware engineering at Lehigh University after graduating from MHS. Both students received a Rotary certificate at a special lunch event in their honor and are now eligible for scholarship opportunities.
