Established in 1909, Milton Hershey School is an award-winning academy offering cost-free education to children from lower income families. Located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Milton Hershey School’s academic program comprises of elementary, middle, and senior divisions. The elementary division is designed for students from pre-K to fourth grade. It focuses on laying a strong academic foundation for young students as they begin their academic life.
The elementary division is staffed by experienced teachers trained to use best practices to advance the school’s academic and social learning curriculum. Core instructions are offered in reading, math, science, social studies, and language arts. Each class has about 15 students, allowing the teachers to interact on a personal level with students, monitoring their academic progress, and helping students’ reach their full potential.
Students with learning difficulties benefit from the school’s Learning Assistance Program, where teachers offer additional assistance in speech, reading, math, and languages.
Committed to developing the whole child, the school offers students a variety of programs such as dance, music, performing arts, and leadership training, to complement their academics. The students also are given opportunities to go on field trips, play sports, go swimming and join scouting movements.
